Winner, Interlochen Center for the Arts Concerto Competition (1992, 1991, 1989, 1988). Receipient of Van Cliburn, Stein, Bland, and Presidental Scholarships to Michigan State and Virginia Commonwealth Universities. Doctor of Musical Arts (2001, University of Houston). Master of Music (1997, Eastman School of Music). Bachelor of Music (1996, Virginia Commonwealth University, Summa Cum Laude).

Dr. Miller's conservatory-based training has included the teachers Nelita True, Horacio Gutiérrez, Charles Asche, Benjamin Yu, Ruth Tomfohrde, Wesley Ball, Tayloe Harding, and Landon Bilyeu, and masterclass training with Andre Watts.
